Great location. Convenient breakfast plan. Nice room with street view.
Price for car service to airport was probably about 30% too high.
Location is excellent, Charles Bridge, Restaurants close by and easy to visit Castle and City. Had Tea and Coffee making facilities, only one we found in Czech Republic. Breakfast was good.
Value: We stayed at 2 pricier hotels during our 7 day Prague holiday. If I had known about Charles Bridge Residence, I would never have stayed at the other two hotels. Charles Bridge was the best located and best value for money. The other hotels were perfectly fine with their own unique positive points, but even weighing those points, if I had to re-book 7 days in Prague I would book all 7 days at Charles Bridge Residence. Breakfast: Charles Bridge offered the best breakfast. We stayed at a hotel across the street that offered breakfast at the exact same place as Charles Bridge, Bagel Bohemia, but did not offer as full a menu to the guests. And it was a more expensive hotel. Location: Although we stayed at another hotel directly across street from Charles Bridge Residence, Charles Bridge was best located because we could lean out our window and see the Charles Bridge and see all the flurry of activity below us. The other hotel had said we would be able to see the river and the Charles Bridge, but put us in a room where we could not see either.
If you are handicap - Charles Bridge would not be the best option for you.
This was a fantastic place to stay, the staff were very helpful. Room was very comfortable and airy with a great bathroom. So close to everything!
The only thing we felt was a negative was that you could hear people coming up and down the stairs because they were wooden floors, but the hotel only has 7 or 8 rooms so it wasn't too bad at all because there's obviously not that many people staying.
Location (if you did not have a car - see comments below) Room size good
Onsite information very misleading - would not have picked this hotel (as had a car) if had previously known carpark (public) was approx 30 mins walk from hotel & cost e29 not e25 as advertised. Room stuffy, up 4 flights of stairs & with very squeaky parquetry floorboards.
Great position - right near the Charles Bridge. Room was large and modern with a good bathroom. Manager was helpful.
It had no reception area therefore it was key entry only - not a major problem.
The hotel was very clean and situated in great location. There were rooms for 3 and 4 people and the rooms were big enough.
I like the good location. Near to the Charles bridge and walking distance to Prague castle. Away from the crowded old town. I love the free wireless internet. It is also near to a metro station which makes traveling easier.
Excellent location near Charles Bridge, Castle, restaurants, etc. ATM and grocery store are a few metres from the entrance. Free, reliable WIFI
Location is in the heart of the busiest tourist area. Our unit was on the street side and was pretty noisy at night - but tolerable.
The residence was clean, we had tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge and the room was fairly big for the three of us and was comfortable.
The number of stairs to the top floor bedrooms. Whilst being very clean and the large room, this property should be described as a Hostel and not a hotel. Although we enjoyed our stay, we were under the impression when booking that this was a hotel.
The place of hotel is the great. It can be said without any overstatements that you are in front of Charles bridge. The second thing, I'd like to mention, is very friendly and helpful staff.
There was the only discomfort I felt. It's the WI-Fi net. Unfortunately, sometimes my MacBookPro, iPad and iPhone couldn't find the Wi-Fi absolutely. In addition to the absence of other Wi-Fi. From time to time they could grab the net and work very slowly and sadly. Maybe, it was the consequence of our 5-th floor accommodation, but the fact is I couldn't use the Internet at all and went to the nearest Starbucks cafe (only 2 min from the hotel). To be honest, the manager was very friendly and tried to help me. Though he gave me the password of his own offices Wi-Fi net the result was the same. I am sure that the WiFi need being to improve.
location, value for money, clean and big room and bathroom, good breakfast inclusion
A kettle in the room would be convenient
This is answered extensively but the location is #1. Comfortable beds and clean room. I like self-serve hotels like this where there is no lobby and nobody to bother you.
When I arrived I was told my room would not be ready until 5pm because they received my booking that day. Not my problem. (They did allow me to use the computer at their office until then) They eventually got the room ready at 2pm. Satellite TV of 1500+ channels only have maybe 6 working. 2 of them English (NBC and CNN). No WiFi reception, no tea or coffee making facilities (although it is advertised on this website). Overall I think the reviews are a bit on the romantic side but the hotel is not too bad.
The best of this hotel is the location, good rooms, good breakfast also.
The owner of the hotel contacted me by e-mail prior to the visit to verify our arrival time and to arrange for our transportation from the train station. Our very late arrival time was not a problem. He met us at the door and introduced us to our room and shared some facts about the city, even though it was near midnight. He also arranged our transportation to the airport when we left. The room was spacious enough for 3 adults to move about comfortably. The bathroom was also spacious and looked as if it had been recently updated. Breakfast was served at a small restaurant just steps from the hotel. There was a menu from which to choose whatever suited one. The owner gave us a card with his cell phone number to call at any time if we needed to speak with him. It was reassuring to know that we could call him if we had problems in a city strange to us. The location could not have been better. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance, including some great restaurants and shopping.
There is no lift, so be sure you can handle your luggage up one or more flights of stairs. The owner will help, but there is no porter.
